Haven't heard much about WKC but saw this video today. It looks beautiful, fun and has some interesting features.

I just picked up the game. That video looks really cool!

I'm not expecting WKC to be the be-all-end-all, but I think it has some really interesting mechanics in all phases of the game. Looking forward to playing it.

Probably won't fire it up until 8-9pm CST. It sounds like multiplayer opens up a bit deeper in the game, so I'll keep you posted on my progress. When you get to the point of building your Geo-town, let me know what your focus will be. Maybe I should do something different (i.e. if you go blacksmithing, I go farming)

Oh, and as soon as I can scrape up some more $$ (aka beg the wife) I am going to pick up a headset for voice chat. Any recommendations?

If you already have a bluetooth headset for your cellphone it will work with your PS3. I bought the Sony branded one myself and I can use it with my cellphone in the car as well. Ontario passed the handsfree law, it begins enforcement really soon.

I should have the game sometime this week. I also should have Mag very soon as well.

First impressions of WKC is mixed... you might not want to rush out and buy it just yet -- maybe never.

My notes:

• As I expected, there are some interesting game mechanics being introduced.
• The character development is new and should take me a while to figure out.
• I agree that combat seems pretty forgiving, but I'm still figuring out how to optimize. Maybe once I get to that point it will be boring. You can die if you slack off (proven).
• The money required to upgrade doesn't seem that bad. It would require killing more mobs or doing more side quests though. Could get 'grindy' early.
• I haven't tried multiplayer yet.

That's a harsh review. Gametrailers wasn't quite as hard on it, but they did bring up almost all the same flaws.

I called Sadet the other day from Target as I was about to buy WKC, for a last minute review. His advice was to hold on cause it wasn't shaping up to be as cool as we thought. I'm still interested in getting it, primarilly to have a game I can play with you two. But I'm waiting because I'd rather save the money if there is a chance that you guys will not be playing the game for long.

Keep me posted on the reviews, and your own status with the game.

I held off because of Sadet's review as well.
I also held off on Mag. I might buy Bad Company 2 though.
I'm almost overwhelmed right now, as there's several games I'd like, but I don't have the time to play them all.
